A exploration of spiritual stillness, 30 day fast of reading, studying and practicing the 26th verse of Tao Te Ching. (Living Calmly) The month long spiritual exercise in accepting and being gracious for what lies ahead.  Being a avid hack writer, I’ll post 30 days consecutively, thoughts on “Being Content.” Poems, exercises, take-home assignments, etc.

(working on short story writing)

Day 23, “a beautiful nightmare”

the gun dares one to imagine
rest firmly beside the temple
itchy fingers readies aim
a sooth stream of death
the soulless vultures steals
the skeleton corpse
teeth of limits suck life
a heart once filled empty
emotionless without cause
has death secured its destiny?

Life for better or worse, attached to I. To risk failure, ringing my mind dry for hope, ideals, joy. Fulfilling a promise to learn and grow as a child. Reaching above the shelf each day, attempting to find one more dream.

Energized as a lion, a unquenchable mind presses for food. Devouring all, my skeleton covered with skin life breath. The hunter failed in his capture, a great lion lives on.  Unafraid as most dreamer are, dream on.
