12 Things about the Tao and I

Taoism is a philosophy crafted by the consciousness of the individual. As such, The Way does not need a guru or master to guide its wisdom for you. In addition, you cannot fall or rise to an imaginary pious status with The Tao.

By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try.

The world is beyond the winning.

Did You Know, the Strong Surrender and the Weak Persist

848531146_0231211e47 “God grant you the strength to fight off the temptations of surrender.” Walter Annenberg. Mr. Annenberg’s quote signifies an act of spiritual imprisonment and ultimately a deliberate attempt at euthanasia. Contrary to popular national, cultural, and athletic’ rally cries, in most instances, whatever you fight will consume you. Paul Tournier, Acceptance of one’s life has nothing to do with resignation; it does not mean running away from the struggle. On the contrary, it means accepting it as it comes, with all the handicaps of heredity, of suffering, of psychological complexes and injustices.”

However, all too often, we believe the harder one fight; the more one may accomplish or overcome. This is a misnomer, albeit, a powerful one. As a former athlete, if one appeared to surrender, it was the ultimate sign of human weakness. Nevertheless, as I later learn in life, this one unrealistic principle caused me unlimited pain and suffering. When one creates the illusion that to yield defines a feeble spirit, woe on to that person, I say. “Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune.” William James. To fight reality and remain steadfast against the obvious demonstrate a person lock inside their mind.

Stop Fighting

How often have we not accepted our reality? For instance, not only refusing to come to terms with unpleasant circumstances, but ultimately, erecting a ‘never say die” attitude. Specifically, as we play out the illusion we can control situations or persons’ behaviors and attempt to control the universe, we become obsessed with prevailing. There remains a great deal of pain for individuals who believe this principle. Primarily, as many of us have learned, we have absolutely no control over anything but our thoughts. To believe you are controlling someone’s actions is a fairytale.

If you desire change in a person or yourself for that matter, surrender, yes you heard me correctly, give up and let the situation occur without your interference. This is not prophecy or a treasure trove of some mystical oracle, but a peaceful resolution. There are so many spirits rested on the ill-fated wisdom that control of others and situations are in our power. Sadly, many learn and often too late, that we never had control of our lives, husbands, wives, children, not even our pets. 89737864_8ae6143610

Accept, Surrender, Move On

Give up the ideal of trying to make someone change their behaviors. Incidentally, what will happen will occur in God’s time not yours. We preach a good game but many of us live contrary to our pious tongues. Some so obsessed with not releasing their spirit to God, they fight to control every facet of their lives. Eventually, placing the blame on the ‘God’s testing us’ parable when the crap hits the fan.

You have heard this, first person, “I am in pain,”…second person, “God’s just testing you” yea right, testing your foolishness, wondering way you continue to fight. How about you surrender, how about you throw your ego out the door and realize you do not control your own breathing, let alone people and circumstances.

Stop the madness in believing fighting will bring victory. Maybe it will, maybe it will not, but at what cost to the spirit for such a shallow win? If you want peace, surrender, give it up and move on. Allow your obsessions to go free, allow your spirit to accept individuals’ behaviors without judgment and condemnation. You do not have to be right all the time. More importantly, permit yourself to discover the strength in surrendering by allowing things to go their nature way, without your input. In other words, stop your pain by accepting, surrendering, moving on.

“Generally speaking, the Way of the warrior is resolute acceptance of death.” Miyamoto Musashi

Discover Your True Self

205045_840a

Define Me

**To realize our true nature, one’s comprehension must be turn inside out. Did you know memories, assumptions, and facts are obstacles to a new awareness?

Our mind contains many untruths about our true nature. (e.g., birth, death, spiritual dependency) These delusive comprehension become accessible as the mind search for causation of existence.

‘Who Am I’ appear to require a plausible answer, or at least one believable enough to have faith in. Therefore, the obsession with ‘Who AM I’ influenced our mind to clarify existence with role identification. ‘Who AM I’ became ‘What I do.’

Diggin’ Out

**

The mind craves identification through role-play. More so, our attachment to these multiple identities (e.g., fathers, wives, children and students) provides the stress to our lives. Sadly, some may falsely deceive others of ‘who we are’ and worse, ourselves. 17917_ad3f

Understandably, some may even become morally bankrupt, while existing in this deceptive capsule. We still dread being without identification however.

The Unknown Identification

**

The unknown cannot receive identification from its creation. All descriptions of the unknown, the true being, are eternally false. The unconscious being, lost in its delusions perceive restraint inside its temporary mind and world.

An orphan, the Supreme Being entwined in role identification appears befuddled and lost. This is not true, however, false mental concepts appear faithful, but lest not believe in dreams. Arguably, our true nature is without identification and description.  Again, one must excavate memories, half-truths, and self-deception to arrive at its true nature.  Start your walk inside the dreams and discover the creator.

The Dreaded, Body-Mind Divorce

397738362_4c68cb9e61A marriage with the unseen remains dubious. The body-mind entity, a determine opponent seeks a permanent connection.

Sadly, the forces of unreasonable desires, unobtainable happiness, and chronic worry; believes it owns me.

I blame only myself. I conditioned the beast with chronic lies of, “I Am This,” and “I Am in Control,” dialogs. The marriages to these falsities, both sad and distressing, currently obstruct my egotistical divorce. After years of professed devotional commitment, ego refuses to permit my exit without a fight.

**

“I Want Out”

Spiritual freedom from an egotistical marriage comes at a lofty price. My true nature is a foreign invader that met furious resistance to become my new mate. Sadly, in the beginning, I fought aside my ego; believing its lies that began in my youth.

The attachment to self-identity began at an early age and quickly flooded my thinking. Our family, society, and world, all shouted! “Who Are You?” Who AM I, and how do I insure my position in this world. I soon attracted my flirting ego. My quest for self-identity propelled a insatiable appetite of unreachable desires.  Ego and I married soon after my tenth birthday.48162_4faf

My infectious marriage erected a house of illusions. For example, some of my ego’s illusionist magic, (1) desires just out of touch, (2) happiness always fleeting, or (3) need just one more break and everything will be fine.

The cheating ego produces only unresolved past issues and hopes of better future. It flooded my mind with unobtainable requests relentlessly.  Remarkably it turned around and provided the anger for my dissatisfaction.  Cheating Bastard!

**

“Leave the Keys on the Dresser”

Possessed by a cyclical unsatisfied mind I proceed through life a married malcontent.  I did not recognize my true nature.   I begin to disguise my beast, at my height of delusion people wondered about my sanity.  I exhibited constant anger and stress.

Family and friends questioned who would appear, pseudo-happy brooding breast or Mr. Unrecognizable. So many identities required countless disguises, I lived in a marriage of lies for years.

My divorce from the egotistical mind is hard-hitting and undecided. However, I experience new conscious experiences often, which boost my faith. A prescription for divorce from ego rest not in text or advice. No one can help you with this process.

**

“How to Start Over”

You must free yourself.  The person, whom said, “I Do” must challenge the ego marriage. External supplements possess no value.  Praying, meditating or yoga are clever egotistical props.  A egotistical trick, wrapped inside of God, a old stale trick to induce attachment to an external object.  “You Are What You Seek!”

Stay in your heart, change your consciousness and the divorce will occur. Your natural being, needs no instructions, you will find truth, when you look for it.

“The Sin Remover”

“Do you feel anything? Nothing. Absolutely, Nothing!”

The Invisible Dragon, replying to a television evangelists.

**

Refresh the Spirit

Wash sin away with the water I was told. Several friends swear by the practice steadfastly insisting water removes the horrors of misdeeds. I got wet. A low audible mystic mantra a friend persisted wash away all dreadful transgressions. After several mind-numbing minutes, I forgot why I was mumbling, and in addition, the incoherent jargon frightened me.

Close your eyes and listen to the heart on a city park bench and sin vanish. After filling out the police report of my mugging, I tossed the practice. Read the Koran and Allah will take away sin, I received a full-cavity body search while flying to Cleveland. I am positive the airport official had a wedding ring on before he…oh God! I shudder to imagine where his ring..Agggh!

**

Sin No more!

Stop eating pork! There rest your trouble your filthy diet! I like goat. Can I eat goat? Yes what a foolish question my friend shouts back. God cleanse all things except pig. Trust me on this, it is complicated, God and pig have issues.251077_a18b

Give away all your position and live in a tent in the middle of the desert and follow us another friend requested. The first night several people became really ill after drinking some punch, so I called home for a plane ticket, another body search, ouch!

**

What are Friends for?

I have friends who suggest sin remedies. Over the years I tested some and contested others, all the while seeking “the fix it” to my soul. ‘

There remain more friends and sin remedies; the search for total sin annihilation my noble cause. Out there somewhere, a cure, I travel the world over looking for the elusive spell.

“The Sin Remover.”
